Collaboration was at the heart of the new CIMA+ Ottawa office from the very beginning. Falkbuilt Ottawa partnered with well known design firm, 4té Inc. to deliver a high-performance interior for one of Canada’s leading engineering firms. The result is a space that reflects the strength of partnership, where design, technology, and prefabrication come together to create lasting value.

The client envisioned an interior that mirrored its culture — modern, collaborative, and forward-thinking. Working closely with Chantal Boyer-Casey, 4té Inc. Principal and Interior Designer, the Falkbuilt Ottawa team combined their technical expertise and digital construction capabilities to bring that vision to life with precision and speed.

A Partnership Built on Performance

It’s a collaboration model that 4té and Falkbuilt Ottawa know well. The two teams have partnered on several projects across the region, leveraging Digital Component Construction to deliver beautifully detailed interiors, faster than conventional methods allow. Falkbuilt’s precision manufacturing and delivery to site, within just four weeks, make it a natural fit for projects where time, quality, and design intent all matter.

“There was a tight construction time frame,” explains Boyer-Casey, “Using Falkbuilt really helped accelerate the schedule. We were able to get the product on time, installed quickly, and on budget.”

Designing for Connection and Collaboration

CIMA+ wanted a workplace that would strengthen connection and culture—encouraging collaboration, boosting engagement, and providing flexible, welcoming spaces that inspire people to do their best work. At the heart of the office is a lively hub with lounge seating, a coffee bar, and a games area—a welcoming destination that fosters connection among staff and guests.

“The project happened just after the pandemic, and the focus was on getting people back into the office,” Boyer-Casey explains. “At the time, it was hard to retain talent. The client wanted a space that would attract new hires and help retain and incent existing staff. The new office was well-received by the CIMA+ team. They love the central hub—a great space for employees to share, connect, and collaborate.”

The design also features extensive custom millwork, which was initially to be provided by another company before the team switched to Falkbuilt to ensure on-time delivery. Falkbuilt’s digital fabrication process allowed 4té to achieve an elevated level of customization while maintaining speed and consistency.

Building Digital Assets, Not Disposable Interiors

Beyond speed and precision, the CIMA+ office is now a long-term digital asset rather than a disposable expenditure. Thanks to our technology, Echo, which integrates with industry standard tools like Revit, every component was designed in the cloud, before being manufactured, creating a permanent, stored digital record of the space. When changes are needed, the digital model will make it fast, predictable, and cost-effective to adjust, without starting from the beginning. Echo allows spaces to evolve over time – whether reconfiguring walls, updating finishes, or refreshing layouts – with minimal waste and maximum efficiency.
