“A quick turnaround”
Designed for disassembly Falkpod does double duty
First, the “warm and welcoming” Falkpod impressed hundreds of attendees at MiniCon in Pittsburgh and then, just a few days later, it was reassembled down the street at the Falkbuilt by Franklin Branch space.
“It was the gem of MiniCon, it was the talking point,” says Amanda Buczynski, VP of Interior Construction at the Branch. “You got off the elevator and it was right there and that’s what everyone really talked about.”
MiniCon attendees were impressed with the aesthetic, the sustainability benefits and the quick timelines of Digital Component Construction, powered by Echo. “We ordered the Falkpod at the end of August, the show was in early October and then we had it installed here in our space in two days. It was quite a quick turnaround,” says Amanda.
The Falkpod features stone, woodgrain and solid Falkskins, a custom graphic, both a recessed and flush-mount screen, floating shelves and millwork.
“We wanted it to show, as much as we could, all of the little details in this one pod,” she says. “We’re using it as a huddle space, so it looks really cozy right now. On the outside, there is more of an open assembly space with TV and millwork, so it has a dual-purpose.”
Now that the Falkpod is up at the Branch, people who saw it at MiniCon are coming back to check it out again. “We have had a few tours of it since it’s been installed in the office,” she says. “It’s interesting because people that were at the show are bringing their teams to see it here because they want to spread the story to their entire team.”
