“A remarkable success story”

The Falkbuilt Middle East Branch turned eight dated and inefficient hospital rooms at the Al Kuwait Hospital in Dubai into gorgeous VIP patient rooms complete with pre-engineered headwalls.

The hospital staff love the new environment, and their patients describe the new rooms as having “a hotel feel” more than a hospital vibe. “The client loved it. It was a very successful project. It is a remarkable success story,” says Bassem Nassif, principal of the Falkbuilt Middle East Branch.

“They wanted to finish fast. Speed of construction was critical to them. We were able to develop the job from design, construction and execution within six months,” says Bassem. “If they had gone conventionally, it would have taken them at least a year.”

The headwalls shipped from Calgary, equipped with durable cladding and calming graphics as well as med gas, technology and electrical built in, save a ton of time onsite. They also allow hospital staff quick and easy access inside the wall to check or change med gas. With the new rooms, the hospital has seen average patient recovery rates improve by 1.2 days. UAE’s Engineering Health Services (EHS) department is so pleased with these eight rooms that they’re making them the standard reference for all EHS VIP patient rooms across the country.
