“Check, check, check”
Align Technology’s space is flexible, sustainable + beautiful

When Align Technology, the company that designs and manufactures Invisalign®, was planning their new space in Toronto during the pandemic, the first thing on their list of “must haves” was flexibility.
“Not knowing what their work model was going to be down the road, they wanted to optimize flexibility so that they could take things down, add to it, move things as their needs changed post-pandemic or when people came back to work,” says Julie Moore, Design Director at Connect Resource in Toronto, the firm that designed the 50,000 sq ft project.
Align was also looking for a solution that was sustainable. Falkbuilt delivered there too. “Everything from manufacturing to getting it to site to installation, there’s very little waste,” she says. And, of course, the client wanted a great aesthetic for their four meeting rooms and 16 collaborative spaces. They got that too. “Check, check, check,” says Julie. “They love the look and feel.”

Julie worked with Ingrid Schoning at the Greater Toronto Branch to identify any issues and solve them before they became problems. “It was fantastic. We worked with the contractor from the beginning of the project and were able to identify potential issues early on and make changes as they came up.”
For example, easily adjusting a ceiling in a Falkpod to work with HVAC and sprinklers’ plumbing lines as well as find a fast solution to a base building issue. In the end, Digital Component Construction checked everything on the client’s wish list. “Falkbuilt was a big win,” says Julie. “They really, really liked it.”
