Meeting room helps attract high tech bio tech companies to space

San Diego has a gleaming new space attracting high tech bio med companies to Silicon Beach and a Falkpod is smack dab in the middle of the action. Healthpeak Developments calls The Boardwalk a “flagship campus in the core life science market of San Diego.”
Ferguson Pape Baldwin Architects (FPBA) turned to Digital Component Construction for a “shared conference room as part of an ‘amenity rich’ common area,” says Paul Luther, principal of the Falkbuilt San Diego Branch. “We’re really proud of this project, there are so many interesting details.”
The environment was designed by Michael Wilson of FPBA and it includes stunning ceiling baffles, with the meeting room tucking in underneath. The Falkpod, includes sliding doors and millwork. It’s structurally sound, too, and perfectly suited for Southern California. “Our pride and joy is always finding a way to resist seismic movement without using diagonal bracing,” says Paul.
