“Dead sexy” walls + “Falking beautiful” doors
Calgary oral surgeon clinic demonstrates the "future of construction"
The gleaming new space at South Calgary Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is beautiful but much more than a pretty face. Sure, there are gorgeous 12 ft walls with clerestories to let the light flow, dropped ceilings, a cool brick feature wall and integrated technology with back painted glass; but there’s also loads of utilities you can’t see, like med gas that routes around corners and up and around clerestories. “There was a lot of plumbing and medical gas,” says Falkbuilt project manager, Josh Cullen. “With our ability to specifically design the super stud layout around these components, the other trades were able to install with ease, even though it was the first time they worked with us.”
Floor and ceiling tracks arrive onsite first so everything is ready for the rest of the digital components. “We were able to get the structure and electrical components to site and installed in a timely fashion, so the electrical and mechanical rough-ins could be installed prior to the cladding,” says Josh. The GC, impressed with the surgical precision of Digital Component Construction, says Falk walls are "the future of construction."
At the end of the day, everyone is smiling. “The client thought our Falkskin doors were absolutely beautiful,” says Josh. “The designer said the walls were “Falking beautiful.” And, for his part, the GC calls the walls “dead sexy.”
