Echo technology saves the day + the schedule
Despite hiccups Gallery by Falkbuilt delivers project in Scotland on time
Everything was on track to ship a new Mastercard autonomous store from Falkbuilt HQ to Scotland on November 21. A week before, as installers began mocking up the store in Calgary, HQ was sent updated site dimensions that did not jive with the original information.
“We hit pause to assess what those dimensional differences were,” says Dan Gallery of Gallery by Falkbuilt. “Originally, we were shipping on the 21st to arrive and start setting up December 2. We only took a week to assess those dimensional issues and rebuild and reproduce the components needed to correct those.”
That fast action simply would not have been possible without Echo technology providing an engineering accurate model of the store in the cloud—the single source of truth for the project. “Having a digital platform that is linking the design set to the production set allowed us to quickly identify the areas that were going to create problems onsite and fix them in a quick manner without excessive change orders or holding up the project timeline,” says Dan.
Even with a week delay in shipping the digital components for the store, it was completed on the original schedule. “They started Thursday December 8 and it was complete the following Monday,” he says. “It's that digital platform of design to production set that really speeds up the resolution path for issues. That’s the power of Echo.”
Echo also speeds the process with outside vendors like Identity Ink, which provided the store graphics. And the technology uses QR codes to keep track of every single digital component from production to site across the pond. “The QR codes not only inform the packaging and the guaranteed shipment timeframe, but they also inform the ability to see how it goes together onsite.”
The client is happy, “the store is beautiful,” and Gallery by Falkbuilt continues to deliver autonomous stores across Europe on time, regardless of any hiccups.
