Client loves renovated clinic + working with “team players” at Falkbuilt
The Indianapolis University Health Fishers (IUHF) renovated clinic—including a reception area, nurses’ station and exam rooms—and the Falkbuilt Indianapolis Branch are getting rave reviews for the space and the collaboration and communication that made it happen.
“We’re used to working with contractors that haven’t spent time with clients to get them on board,” says Matt Watkins, a project manager with Messer Construction in Indianapolis. “Justin Reboulet and Abby Burgess did a great job getting things in line and working with the client to ensure the space met their needs. We were getting our feet wet with Falkbuilt and their willingness to be team players really made everyone more open to new ideas.”
Strong communication, powered by Echo’s engineering accurate model in the cloud, made design changes easy and highlighted the durability and ease of installation with Digital Component Construction. “There was a lot of value in having everything arrive machined to the right size. And, I was impressed with how clean everything was,” says Matt.
While other solutions “feel more like furniture” Falkbuilt feels like construction. says Nick Slater, project architect from MSKTD. “The heavier duty studs and overall construction were much more suited for patient rooms that are going to see intensive use,” he says. He also liked how easy it was to integrate different colors, wayfinding and nurse call buttons “by popping off the panels to do the cuts onsite.”
From start to finish, the Branch’s commitment to collaboration and establishing new relationships helped create the best space possible. “The users love the spaceship look of it. It feels very different, which they really liked,” Nick says. “We took the project into construction documents before Falkbuilt was involved. If we’d brought Falkbuilt on earlier, it would have saved more time.”
