“The perfect solution”

When the team got to work renovating The Aberdeen, an iconic 80’s office building in Dallas, they originally envisioned folding wooden doors with glass insets for the large conference room off the lobby. But the heavy weight, big cost and long lead times sent them back to the drawing board, or more specifically, sent them to the Falkbuilt Dallas Branch.

The general contractor, Shane Cloud of Highland Builders, called Shaun Smith at the Branch to see whether Falkbuilt could solve the problem. Enter the telescoping door. “It was the perfect solution,” says Shane's colleague, Sheila McCarter of Highland Builders in Dallas. “It met the structural requirements; it came in on time and on budget.”

Not to mention, the door makes a striking aesthetic statement, open or closed. “It's beautiful, it's airy. And it makes a great transition between spaces,” Sheila says. The client, Brandy Morris, Senior Property Manager at Vista Holdings, loves it too. “Our lobby has transformed into a premiere work/play/dine space for all of our tenants. We have had nothing but complements on the new lobby and rooms.”

The “creative, innovative solution” was ideal, and so was the service. “Our project manager went on and on about how wonderful Falkbuilt is to deal with,” says Sheila. “Shaun was extremely responsive. The information provided for us to execute this correctly was flawless. And they were a dream to work with. Our PM, Patrick LaRose, totally enjoyed working with your team.”
