The energy of our CEO, Mogens Smed, is tireless - a whirlwind of energy, determination, and drive, he’s constantly in motion—challenging us to think bigger and build smarter. Behind the momentum is a message that he always he comes back to: “We would be nothing without our people”. That belief runs deep at Falkbuilt. Smed wants everyone, no matter their role, to understand how Digital Component Construction is transforming interior construction, and to feel pride in being part of that change.

We’re All Falkers

Our HQ Falkers represent 48 different countries from around the world and speak over 40 different languages. We celebrate diversity and inclusion, warmly welcoming all Canadians and those new to Canada. We respect and appreciate all beliefs and do not tolerate discrimination of any kind but instead celebrate the broader understanding our differences can bring.

Every person who joins our HQ team, no matter their role, spends time working on the factory floor. That includes CFO, Heather McDonald, who suited up in PPE on her first week to learn firsthand about Digital Component Construction and Echo technology. Rolling up sleeves and working alongside our HQ Factory Team while learning about our prefabricated construction solutions, helps form lasting relationships between office and factory teams, and is an important part of becoming a Falker - building empathy, understanding, and respect across the board.

“Working in the factory was one of the most valuable parts of my first couple of weeks at Falkbuilt. Being able to participate in the actual jobs and tasks, and especially to connect directly with the people on the frontline (who were so welcoming and patient) made everything “real” so much faster and contributed greatly to my sense of belonging to the team,” says Campbell.

A Falking Good Time

It’s not all work and no play. We always make time to celebrate. From flipping pancakes at our Stampede breakfast to bringing magic to Lil Falkers at the holiday party, these traditions are part of what brings our teams together, year after year. We have a soft spot for dogs - a dog friendly office policy, dedicated Instagram account (@furryfalkers), and the Furry Falkers photo wall at HQ is always growing!

Falkers in the Wild

Outside of work, we show up for each other and have fun doing it. Whether it’s a game of golf, a mountain bike ride, or laughing our way through a dodgeball match, we make time to connect, celebrate, and unwind. We celebrate life’s big milestones, like new babies and weddings. Just as importantly, we lift each other up through challenging times, like health struggles and loss. From showing up at a colleague’s art show or DJ gig, to helping a co-worker’s foster dog through surgery, to cheering on a teammate during their three-day Kidney March every year, we’re there for each other, on and off the clock.

This summer Falkers had a blast participating in the Sun’s Out, Falk’s Out Summer Bucket List Challenge, sharing photos doing different fun summer activities for a chance to win prizes. We had great participation with over 600 photo entries!

Giving a Falk

We believe in the power of community and the importance of showing up for others. During the holiday season, our teams work together to brighten the lives of families facing difficult circumstances. Whether it's wrapping gifts, gathering grocery cards, or donating warm winter clothing, we do what we can to lend a hand. We’re increasing our impact by rolling out monthly team volunteer opportunities to make it easier to give back together. Falkers now receive one afternoon off every six months to volunteer for a cause close to their heart. So far, we’ve donated hours at the Calgary Food Bank and WINS (Women in Need Society). At Falkbuilt, when we say we care—we mean it - and we’re proud to be a team that gives a Falk.
