Welcome to Alcon

After completing a couple of lab spaces for Alcon, the Falkbuilt Atlanta Branch set about renovating the lobby at the global company’s administrative building in Johns Creek, northeast of Atlanta.

“I have never used a panelized system like this as a means of finishing, and it looks much slicker than even a real wood finish," says Tony Schreiber, Alcon’s Manager, Site Facilities, Johns Creek Manufacturing. “It looks great. I’ve done a lot of buildings in my career, and I was really surprised at the sophistication and the overall look.”

Alcon, the world’s largest eye care device company, wanted to open up two spaces into one warm, welcoming lobby for visitors and employees. As well as the look and feel, Tony was pleased that Digital Component Construction made it easy to incorporate existing TVs into the new space.

“It’s a pretty nice cost-effective solution,” he says. “Like I said, we could have done some other stuff, but given the cost and the look that the panels provide, it’s very neat and it’s certainly updated the look of the lobby. There’s no way I would’ve gotten that look out of drywall. It’s pretty attractive and we were pretty pleased with that.”

Alcon is so pleased with their new refreshed lobby in one building on their sprawling Johns Creek campus, they’re working with Falkbuilt Atlanta Branch on renovating a lobby in another building.
