"Broadening market share" in Calgary + beyond

From mock-ups of projects to the final touches on our new Echo Dome structure, something new is happening in the factory at Falkbuilt HQ in Calgary every single day of the week. And any day of the week you can find Calgary Branch principal Thom Hinton telling people far and wide what’s going on.

As well as working with dozens of clients in Calgary on 30+ projects (and counting), Thom gives dozens of Zoom tours every week to clients across North America, and around the world. “So far, I think I’ve snapped in a digital horizontal about 500 times over Zoom,” he says of the requisite stop at the wall demonstrating how Super Studs, digital horizontals and cladding work together. He’s also been known to jump off the cladding to show how strong it is. “It never gets old!”

As Thom walks through the factory showing off Falkpods, Falknest and the brand new Echo Dome structure over Zoom, he loves it when people ask questions. “That’s my favourite part for sure. People get excited and want to know more about something and I can walk right over to the part of the factory to show them exactly what we’re doing.”

When he’s not getting his 10,000 steps a day in the factory, Thom is visiting clients around Calgary, from gyms, to law offices to industrial spaces and hospitals.“The Calgary market is incredibly excited about what we’re doing here,” he says. “I’ve been working in this market for 25 years and people are thrilled with the new direction we’re taking. Digital Component Construction is opening up new avenues, like industrial and retail, that we haven’t even considered before. We’re broadening our market share dramatically.”
