People behind the projects

At any given time, dozens of crews are installing Falkbuilt projects across North America and around the world. While most jobs go fairly smoothly, there can be—as we all know—hiccups along the way. Today’s blog celebrates a few of Falkbuilt’s onsite problem solvers.

David Fernandes has seen more than his share of construction sites. As National Director of Design and Construction for RSM, a global accounting firm, he manages projects all over the US. And, he was onsite in Fort Lauderdale when the Falkbuilt Charlotte Branch by CBI installed a project in a new penthouse space. David had heard great things about the Falkbuilt installers from the contractor—“one of the most professional teams that he’s ever worked with”—but he was still blown away with the team onsite.

“When they came to deliver the freight elevator was down and they were stuck there waiting for several days,” David says. “They decided to start taking the product up the passenger elevator. Obviously that’s going to take multiple trips. They were extremely flexible with their time and willing to work around the issue as best they could.”

The 18 full Falkbuilt offices, four phone rooms plus 14 glass fronts were all installed inside two weeks. “When you get a team that just knows what they’re doing, it is very cool to watch,” he says. “They know where everything goes. There’s no standing around looking at each other, it’s just: get in, get it done, and get out.”

One thousand miles northwest of Fort Lauderdale, in St. Louis, Todd Feager and David Bray are also raving about the Falkbuilt team they worked with. The Branch Managers at Top Flite Financial worked closely with the St. Louis Branch’s Danielle Bach and Staci Piasecki on a golf-themed office.

“Long story short, they walked into a situation where they weren’t brought in from the start,” David says. “That represents change; change for the contractor, for the architect, and they just did a masterful job of showing the value and showing the benefits of Falkbuilt. It could’ve gone off the rails, but it didn’t.”

Once construction started, the Branch team met with Todd and David, the architect and GC regularly. As soon as the site was ready for the Falkbuilt offices and meeting rooms to be installed, Danielle and Staci were there. “They were onsite every day, all day, just to make sure it went great. And once it was ready for the punch list, they knocked their items out, so their whole process was fantastic,” says David. “It’s one of those things where actions speak louder than words. It’s nice what people say, but the more important thing is what people do.”
