Fly through our Falknest

The Falknest is our stunning working environment and celebration of architecture and design right in the middle of our 90,000 square foot Calgary factory. We’ve placed it, quite intentionally, in the centre of our gleaming white industrial space to erase boundaries and eliminate any disconnect between Falkers working in different facets of the business.

When we finish moving into Falknest, every single Falker will experience every aspect of Digital Component Construction-from greeting clients, developing revolutionary software, manufacturing components, to shipping solutions to job sites around the world.

Within the 6,400 square foot timber environment, Falkers are even more inspired to serve our clients, collaborate, get creative and push innovation. After all, Falknest is testimony to the power of Digital Component Construction; using technology to empower architectural and design freedom, deliver dizzying speed of construction, quality and sustainability, all at a fraction of the cost.  

Designed and built entirely by Falkers using only Falkbuilt solutions, Falknest is a living example of the design and production features we’re devoted to. It was engineered by our master builder, Chris Friedlos, who is particularly proud of the magnificent staircase. He worked closely with architectal designer Soodabeh Naderi, who was inspired by the whole idea of nesting.

“As I was designing Falknest, I was imagining Falkers as birds needing a place to feel safe and thrive,” she says. Soodabeh has long been in awe of how birds collect materials--natural things such as twigs and human-made materials such as string--to assemble their nests. “Birds have the ability to create a complex nest, and that’s one of the main adaptive advantages they have in the wild,” she says. “Being able to use versatile materials may mean they use less energy and that could be another adaptive advantage.”

Adapting is going to be even more important in our post-pandemic world. Speaking of which we look forward to showing you around Falknest in person soon.
